Nabatanzi Oliver

Eight-year-old Nabatanzi is in Primary One at Bridge Nakuwade in Uganda. She’s making a name for herself at school due to her impressive numerical skills. While many find maths challenging, Nabatanzi really enjoys getting stuck in to the numbers.

Always one of the best in her class, part of the reason she does so well in her maths class is because she really loves learning it. For the mathematically challenged amongst us, it’s hard to believe it but, she says: “maths is simple,” explaining, “my teacher makes it interesting.”

Given her enthusiasm—and perhaps rather sensibly—Nabatanzi wants to be a maths teacher when she grows up. It sounds like whoever she ends up teaching will be very lucky indeed. Hopefully, she’ll be a Bridge teacher!
